What is DHTML?

Under the conventional method of web page development it is hard to change the web page elements. That means the text and graphics cannot be changed easily.

If we want to change these elements then we have to change the entire web page itself. This shows the static nature of the web pages. But this style of web development is only for the passive users. Normally any user wants to get the experience of web browsing by changing some elements on the web page.

For instance : Suppose there is picture of a monkey on your web page. If you simply display monkey's picture and say "monkey likes jumping", then it is an old style of web designing. However, if you click on the picture of monkey and then if your web page could show that monkey is jumping saying that "monkey likes jumping" - then it adds up the value in your web design. This effect on the web page is known as dynamic effect. With Dynamic HyperText Markup Language (DHTML) a developer can control how to display and position HTML elements in a browser window.
